Tuesday October 30th 2018 - Day 2602 - Oh What a World

There has been no further sign of Our Mozzer since his mysterious, "16" comment . I am now going away for a few days, and will not be blogging, but if anyone has any observations to make from the upcoming concerts, then please feel free to leave comment - especially if Morrissey accepts a blue rose. Is anyone actually taking a blue rose? Manc Lad is apparently sending a dozen to Moz in Ventura, but I can't see one of those being warn on stage.  I shall return on Sunday or Monday. Next Tuesday will also see the return of The Wrong Arms Chart, which will feature the best live songs of the week. In the meantime, here is a Chart of all the songs I have played on the jukebox in The Wrong Arms during the month of October. Included in the chart is a song called Oh What a World by Rufus Wainwright, which someone on Solow has suggested could be the 'sousaphone' song on the upcoming California Son LP. It's not a song I had heard before, but it is certainly a song that ...

Monday October 29th 2018 - Day 2601 - Absolutely no care whatsoever

Image
Following the publication of my blog entry on Friday ; in which I wrote that the readership of FTM had fallen through the floor, Morrissey (as Dawn Mist) appeared in The Wrong Arms to state, "FTM is dead" . Hilary Hancocks (@hilaryhancocks) replied to Dawn with, "Friday Mourning, how sad", and got the reply, "I'm relieved." -  I guess a certain someone did once sing, 'To be finished would be a relief'. I have long since learnt not to take Mozzer's digs to heart, but I felt the need to point out that if he had only asked, I would have stopped writing this blog thing of mine years ago, to which he replied, "Lies." In truth, if Morrissey  had  ever asked me to stop writing this blog, then I would have, or at least I would have written it in private mode, and not make my entries public. However, as only three weeks ago old Mozzer was encouraging me to keep FTM going , I took his, "I'm relieved" with a large pinch of sa...

Friday October 26th 2018 - Day 2598 - Record lows for a stupid cunt

Image
My previous two blog entries have attracted the least number of views since Day 165 of FTM ; which was back in February 2012 - I am the forgotten man of the Morrissey blogging world.... never mind, I shall carry on regardless. I am pleased to report that Morrissey (as @flightdawnmist) returned to The Wrong Arms yesterday, and shared a few poetic tweets. Here they are, with the time of posting: 3.29pm (7.29am LA time.... although I have no idea if M is actually in La!): "Stutter in the gutter. Mutter something to set my heart aflutter." 1.53am this morning (7.53pm LA time.... although I have no idea if.... oh, I've already done that bit!): "Spared. Paired. Aired. The release never shared." 1.54am (7.54pm LA time): "Ends are the end. Good shuteye. Forever." 1.57am (7.57pm LA time): "Remorseful is to be forceful. Vacant to be vagrant. Only death and slime." I replied to the first of Dawn's tweets with the customary greeting I always give ...

Wednesday October 24th 2018 - Day 2596 - Free Morrissey

Image
Our Mozzer remains away from the public eye in Dawn's lighthouse. Those flowing, parody writing juices of three weeks ago , would appear to have run dry. I have nothing to write about, so I continue to not write. Meanwhile, back in the real world, free-speech advocate, Tommy Robinson, yesterday attended court at the Old Bailey . The internet is awash with 'Free Tommy' t-shirts, and yesterday Morrissey's M Porium joined in, although instead of Free Tommy, Morrissey has produced a 'Free Morrissey' tee - presumably he wants to be freed from himself! You have to smile. Also new on M Porium is a new roses t-shirt for the ladies - a nod to the BRS? In other real world news, it has been announced by Morrissey's official Facebook and Twitter accounts that Moz will be playing an intimate studio concert for ALT radio in LA on November 5th. What a perfect opportunity for someone to pass Moz a blue rose. And now, back to LP's Recovery .

Monday October 22nd 2018 - Day 2594 - Last and final warning

Image
The last time I had any contact with Our Mozzer was a week ago, in the confines of the Twitter DM box, where he issued me with a, "Last and final warning". My crime? I had sent him a message asking him to unblock Portland Jo (@LifeisaPigsty_), who Moz had apparently blocked with both the Dawn and Broken accounts. I didn't really know why he had decided to block Jo; who was the person he sang Rose Garden for in Phoenix last November , but as Jo had asked me to ask M to unblock her, I contacted him to make the request. First of all Morrissey (as Dawn) replied with a simple, "nein", and when I asked again; adding a personal plea from Jo; which she had asked me to forward, I got the reply, "Don't ever do that again" followed by, "Last and final warning." When Morrissey is in the sort of mood where he blocks people he sings songs for, and issues last and final warnings to those who write about him on a daily basis, it is time to back away and...

Sunday October 14th 2018 - Day 2586 - Wide to receive

Image
All remains quiet in The Wrong Arms, with OM having seemingly taken himself off to the lighthouse. The only thing I have to report is a Thursday afternoon tweet from Broken - lyrics from Morrissey's Wide to Receive: "Download something Useful, or useless Because I'm lying here Wide to receive Almost anything You'd care to give" Is this a clue to a song on the upcoming set? I very much doubt it. Wide to Receive hasn't been sung live since it first appeared on the 1997 album, Maladjusted. The use of the word 'anything' in those lyrics is not only very funny, but a perfect example of what sets Morrissey out from the songwriting herd - in such a song of desperation, most songwriters would write that they were lying wide to receive anything you'd care to give, but Mozzer, even when desperate, throws in that humorous 'almost', just as in Lifeguard on Duty where he adds the word 'partially' to the sentence, "I'm always  good, I...

Wednesday October 10th 2018 - Day 2582 - BRS Day

Image
Six years ago today , a young Morrissey fan called Kyle Douglas took a blue rose to the Morrissey concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York and gave it to Morrissey, who planted it in his pocket - the Blue Rose Society (BRS) was finally born. The story is now old , but it goes on.... In other news, Morrissey (as Dawn Mist) made a brief appearance in The Wrong Arms yesterday, tweeting: "Planning a pathway. Declining leeway. Shooting driverless cars on the highway. Save me. Drowning." Marcus the Greek replied to this by tweeting, "Come home" and got the reply, "Home doesn't concern me. Home has no place for me. Home is history." Broken also made an appearance, posting a portrait of Louis Tomlinson and tweeting: "Louis Tomlinson likes to dress like he was raised on a council estate. If he had stepped foot near one with that voice of his he would have been shot instantly. Go back to your mansion. Leave the working class culture to the working clas...

Tuesday October 9th 2018 - Day 2581 - Still W'OO'ndering

Image
Two tweets from Broken is all there has been from the 'online Morrissey' in the past seventy two hours - one can only presume he is busily working away at that new parody piece we were promised..... or maybe not! On Saturday morning Broken replied to a tweet from Marcus the Greek (@PapaSonsFilm), who had tweeted to say that he had saved him a piece of cake. Broken's very humorous response was, "Bin it" . His other tweet was yesterday morning, responding to a tweet of mine. Wolf66 (@wolf66_m) had asked me if Broken always appeared in the MorrisseysWorld parody pieces as an addition to Morrissey. I replied, "Don't ask me to try and explain anything! Broken is an enigma." Broken's charming response to this was, "And you bloody couldn't even if I wasn't." Of course, the person tweeting as Broken might not have been Morrissey. As we know from previous experience, Morrissey hasn't always been the person who tweets as Broken, as ...

Saturday October 6th 2018 - Day 2578 - Someone for the weekend

Image
There has been no sign of OM in the past 48 hours, other than a message sent to me promising to let me have a snippet of his new parody piece next week.... a snippet? -  I was hoping we might have had the whole thing by now....if it even exists! So, with nothing else to report, I have decided to ask YOU , the readers of this blog thingy, to choose your Top 12 Morrissey songs of the past 10 years and list them as a track by track album. You can choose any song released from 2008-2018, but nothing from Swords or re-issued albums. I shall start this off - be warned, it isn't easy. You can give your album a title if you like - I'm calling mine Someone for the Weekend: 1. You'll Be Gone 2.  My Love, I'd Do Anything For You 3.  Something is Squeezing my Skull 4. Black Cloud 5.  Home is a Question Mark 6.  Action is My Middle Name 7. I Bury the Living 8.  Kiss Me a Lot 9.  In Your Lap 10.  I'm OK by Myself 11. Israel 12.  Oboe Concerto

Thursday October 4th 2018 - Day 2576 - Difficult and raw

Image
Last night I found Our Mozzer - in the guise of our favourite lighthouse keeper, Dawn Mist - alone in the back bar of The Wrong Arms, so I stopped by for a chat. Our conversation was initially about writing articles for newspapers, and then it moved onto the regulars of The Wrong Arms. Our Mozzer stated how he likes @wolf_m and @bartlettpr, and I agreed. They have both taken the time to actually read the old FTM entries and find things out for themselves, as opposed to just dismissing the whole thing or accepting someone else's word. We then talked about life's takers, and how when they fail to get what they want, move on. M stated, "The story is old...". I asked if that was a clue to a song on the upcoming tour setlist, but got the reply, "no". I also asked if we would be getting The World is Full of Crashing Bores, but again got a, "no".   NO LNIDTSLM ON THE UPCOMING SET We then had the following conversation: MOZ: I was listening to Quarry earli...

Tuesday October 2nd 2018 - Day 2574 - Low high art

Morrissey's tweet rampage of yesterday was just like the good old days, and my blog entry to report it all took me virtually all day to write....and yet five hours after I had published my account, only 30 people had bothered to read it, and only one person (mancladmozfan) had bothered to comment. Even now, as I write this new blog entry nearly twenty four hours later, only 50 people have read yesterday's and only 4 have left a comment - WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?  Morrissey fans have now had  SEVEN YEARS to work out that this is the REAL Morrissey humorously interacting with fans on Twitter in various guises, and yet STILL they haven't had the intelligence to do so - TWATS! I had a late night Twitter DM session with Morrissey (as Dawn Mist) last night. The subject of a lack of interest in his tweets and my blog was raised: MOZ: One fucking comment. Why do I bother? ME: Why do I ? - You're a seminal artist and I've been ill all day! MOZ: Ah! But you see the hist...

Monday October 1st 2018 - Day 2573 - Dim the lights

Image
Charles Aznavour has died, Morrissey mourns, and a statement on Morrissey Central gives us another 'coincidence' for our list - more about that later. It would appear that I was wrong yesterday, when I wrote that I didn't think we would see Our Mozzer in The Wrong Arms again before the new tour, which starts in Ventura in 30 days time. OM (as @BRSChairman) called in again today, and when news broke that Charles Aznavour had died, our old friend Broken (as @BrokenDeviant) suddenly turned up as well - having taken over the @FeebleFedelma account. Before the announcement of Aznavour's death, Morrissey exchanged tweets with some of the regulars, but once the announcement of the death came, the Chairman left, and Broken took over.  The Chairman account returned later in the day, but this time as..... DAWN MIST (@FlightDawnMist)! - the whole gang were on parade. Here are some of today's OM tweets as BRS Chairman: "Alone and denude. Bereft of inspiration." - I kn...
