Thursday November 15th 2018 - Day 2618 And I'm dreaming of touching your knee

Theresa May has finalised negotiations with the EU for a Brexit deal, and surprise, surprise, it is a complete non-deal that she knows full well will not get voted through Parliament; in fact, even her own Cabinet ministers who helped her put the deal together are resigning left right and centre as I write this. The UK is very obviously heading for a second referendum, where the choices will be A) Stay in the EU after all or B) Leave with no deal. We will be TOLD that Option B will be apocalyptic, and thus the masses will be too frightened to vote leave this time around, which is just what the authorities want. The Government have just been going through the motions over the past two years, with NO INTENTION of delivering Brexit - we are being controlled.... we are ALWAYS controlled. What is the point in voting when the result of the vote is overturned anyway? As a certain someone once wrote, "that's what Government's for, oh, you poor little fool". In far more int...

Wednesday November 14th 2018 - Day 2617 Irish eyes

Yesterday afternoon I decided to have a read through some of the old articles on the TrueMorrissey blogsite, but when I tried to log-on to it I found a notice reading: Sorry, the blog at truemorrissey.blogspot.com has been removed. I then checked the SlightDawnMist site and discovered exactly the same thing had happened with that blog too. This discovery, coupled with the deletion of the Dawn and Broken Twitter accounts at the beginning of last week, meant that Morrissey was no longer amongst us, so I took the immediate decision that with Moz gone, I would go too; after all, the only reason I write this blog and tweet as @TheRatsBack is because of 'Internet Moz' - all the other stuff I write is just a lot of old nonsense that I find floating around in my head. I tweeted to let my 58 followers know that I was leaving, and after the goodbyes had finished, and I was just about to close the account, this arrived in the comments section of FTM: Dawn Mist 13 November 2018 at 19:28 ...

Tuesday November 13th 2018 - Day 2616 My faith in pop is still devout

Image
It has recently  been announced  that the 'Deluxe' version of Low In High School will be released on December 7th, and will feature three previously unreleased studio tracks: Lover-To-Be, Never Again Will I Be a Twin and This Song Doesn't End When It's Over, plus five live B-sides. I am looking forward to hearing the three new songs, but have thus far resisted pre-ordering the 'clear and transparent magenta' Double LP with tee shirt from Mporium  for 45. What is more, I still haven't purchased the This is Morrissey LP that was released a few months ago, and in fact, haven't actually purchased any records (or indeed CDs)  whatsoever since All The Young People Must Fall In Love. I seem to have stopped buying records without even realising it, and yet my faith in pop is still devout, so what has happened I hear you cry? Back in May 2016 I wrote  how I still had a desire to own a physical copy of the music I listened to, but told how my kids weren't...

Monday November 12th 2018 - Day 2615 Life is a Pigsty

Image
As I lay in bed on Sunday night watching Youtube footage of Morrissey's Saturday night concert in San Diego; which incidentally was the last show of the six 'California Specials', I was struck with just how much Morrissey was enjoying himself. He has always said that he lives to be on the stage, but in these six shows he has been absolutely full of energy, offering-up shimmying dance moves, a whole load of mic-cord whipping and; as he aims his lyrics of disdain at all the lying journalists and turn-away former fans, lots of finger pointing, fist punching, and facial grimacing. Morrissey is on fire. MORRISSEY - ON FIRE IN SAN DIEGO - WITH A BACKDROP OF ANNIE WALKER & ELSIE TANNER As Morrissey signed out of California, there was a special treat for fans in San Diego - Life is a Pigsty - which was dedicated to, "Our friends in Thousand Oaks". Thousand Oaks is a city in Ventura County, and it has been in the news twice this week, firstly because of a mass murder...

Thursday November 8th 2018 - Day 2611 Yet another lying journalist

It is such a shame that you can no longer read a music magazine without being force-fed fake news and a political agenda. Yesterday, an article published by the online American music magazine Pitchfork , took these matters to a new lower level. Pitchfork has the tagline, 'The Most Trusted Voice in Music', but yesterday's article by Ludwig Hurtado about Morrissey's show at the Tropiclia Festival at Long Beach on Saturday was anything but a trusted voice. The show was a huge success, well received by all, which Hurtado himself begrudgingly acknowledges in his article, but rather than let the article be all about the success of the music, the main point of the review; although I cannot actually call it a review as it doesn't mention a single song, is how disappointed Hurtado is that the Latino audience allowed the show to be a success. Hurtado's politics are very obviously left wing, and Latino's loving Morrissey doesn't fit with what Hurtado has read of M...

Tuesday November 6th 2018 - Day 2609 The Rose Malady Malingers On

Image
I awoke yesterday morning to find that both the @FlightDawnMist and @BrokenDeviant Twitter accounts have been closed. Have we seen the last of the lighthouse keeper, Dawn Mist? Has Morrissey finally tired of interacting with the dreary deluded dozen? Has he broken up the family? Time, as ever.... I wasn't actually able to read any of Dawn's tweets as I, along with everyone else except Heather, EARS and latterly manclad, had been locked out, but Heather has informed me that last Thursday, Dawn posted a tweet to me that read, "Barking Billy knows more than he shows." - I have no idea what this means, although on the subject of Billy, the backdrop that is being used for the song William; which has been the opening song at all three of the concerts so far, is a portrait of former Coronation Street character, Billy Walker - Annie & Jack Walker's wayward son. I actually think that William has been added to the set as a message to Barking Billy Bragg, with the words,...

Sunday November 4th 2018 - Day 2607 Eyes Down - A parody

Image
As mentioned in my previous blog entry , at 3.42am (LA time) on Thursday, Broken posted a new parody in the comments section of Day 2598 . There were instructions for me to, "insert appropriate photographs throughout" and to "correct the typos".  As I was away from home on a mini tour of North East England, I was unable to carry out Broken's  instructions, but I am now home, so here it is. There are plenty of other things I want to blog about, but they will have to wait until tomorrow. Incidentally, there were LOTS of typos to correct.... well I guess it was written in the middle of the night! The scene takes place in Morrissey's hotel room.  Mikey: It's simply wonderful to see a new release in the offing, Morr-ee-say *extends pinkie and sips cup of Ceylon*   Our Mozzer: Yes, quite mesmerizing, I think you meant.. *sticks tongue in cheek, rolls eyes, smiles at Mam*   Mam : *nods silently, sips tea* Boz Boorer: ...Yes, sire, mesmerising is the correct wor...
