Tuesday November 6th 2018 - Day 2609 The Rose Malady Malingers On

I awoke yesterday morning to find that both the @FlightDawnMist and @BrokenDeviant Twitter accounts have been closed. Have we seen the last of the lighthouse keeper, Dawn Mist? Has Morrissey finally tired of interacting with the dreary deluded dozen? Has he broken up the family? Time, as ever....

I wasn't actually able to read any of Dawn's tweets as I, along with everyone else except Heather, EARS and latterly manclad, had been locked out, but Heather has informed me that last Thursday, Dawn posted a tweet to me that read, "Barking Billy knows more than he shows." - I have no idea what this means, although on the subject of Billy, the backdrop that is being used for the song William; which has been the opening song at all three of the concerts so far, is a portrait of former Coronation Street character, Billy Walker - Annie & Jack Walker's wayward son.



I actually think that William has been added to the set as a message to Barking Billy Bragg, with the words, "William it was really nothing" either meaning Bragg's career was nothing or Morrissey's words in the Summer were really nothing to get all unnecessary about.

And William isn't the only song in the set that seems to have a message, with there being a number of other songs that have lyrics which could be interpreted as Morrissey sticking two fingers up to those who have shown hate towards him in recent months. These songs include: Alma Matters, Is it Really So Strange, Dial a Clich� and If You Don't Like Me Don't Look at Me. The lyric of "London, home of the free or what" in Hairdresser on Fire could also be a message to the likes of The Guardian and the Independent.

I have at last managed to catch up with all the concert footage from Ventura, LA and Saturday's festival in Long Beach, and have produced a chart at the foot of this page. Morrissey also played a six song 'In Session' concert for ALT 98.7 yesterday. Blue roses were taken by both Angie and Portland Jo to the concert at the Microsoft Theatre in LA on Thursday, but despite protests, they had the roses confiscated, with the security insisting that Morrissey was allergic! Jo was  promised that the flowers would be collected by Morrissey's management and passed on to Morrissey, but I very much doubt she believed them.

Morrissey entered the stage at the Microsoft Theatre carrying what looked to be a brown paper and cellophane posy - it was too dark for anyone to make out if it was the blue roses, but what else could it have been?*

There may also have been a nod to the BRS in Ventura, as something quite strange has come to light. The sign outside the Theatre had Morrissey's name on it, and underneath was the name Rose Malinger. It was thought that this was simply a nod to the 97 year old woman shot in Pittsburgh the previous week, but her name was actually Rose Mallinger. Had Morrissey asked for the name Rose Malinger to be placed under his name as it appealed to his wicked sense of humour? The dictionary definition of Malinger is: "To pretend or exaggerate incapacity or illness" - THIS IS MORRISSEY! To add 'Rose' to Malinger makes the perfect parody name for Our Mozzer.

The sign was later changed, with Rose Malinger removed from it's position right underneath Morrissey's name, and place further down the sign, with an extra 'L' placed into the surname and '1921 - October 27 2018' added - it had now become a proper nod to the dead Jewish lady of Pittsburgh, and not an association to Morrissey..... or am I reading far too much into it all?

And so, with Morrissey no longer on Twitter, and with flowers banned from concert halls, I feel that I may have nothing left to write about. Farewell.

*LATE ADDITION - What had looked to be a posy of flowers at the concert in LA was in fact a 7 inch copy of Back on the Chain Gang, and a bottle of water - a trick of the dark! No nod to the BRS.

Day 2390 - "The construction of genius"

As I counted down the ' Most Watched Morrissey Video Chart 2017 ' in The Wrong Arms yesterday afternoon, we were joined by the man himself (as Morfessa), although it was only very briefly. He tweeted, "I am not staying. I have people to offend", to which I replied, "Your full time occupation...you're good at it too!", and subsequently got the response, "I offended twenty people by the time I had gargled this morning." Before he disappeared, old Mozzer left this message for me via DM: "Stop your chart immediately. Good. The interview questions are being answered. Now continue. From Alf." He then added, "Would you like a sneak peak of an answer?" As I was counting down the chart, I hadn't seen the message, so didn't reply immediately. Two minutes later I got a, "Far too slow."
