Thursday November 8th 2018 - Day 2611 Yet another lying journalist

It is such a shame that you can no longer read a music magazine without being force-fed fake news and a political agenda. Yesterday, an article published by the online American music magazine Pitchfork, took these matters to a new lower level. Pitchfork has the tagline, 'The Most Trusted Voice in Music', but yesterday's article by Ludwig Hurtado about Morrissey's show at the Tropiclia Festival at Long Beach on Saturday was anything but a trusted voice. The show was a huge success, well received by all, which Hurtado himself begrudgingly acknowledges in his article, but rather than let the article be all about the success of the music, the main point of the review; although I cannot actually call it a review as it doesn't mention a single song, is how disappointed Hurtado is that the Latino audience allowed the show to be a success. Hurtado's politics are very obviously left wing, and Latino's loving Morrissey doesn't fit with what Hurtado has read of Morrissey in the left wing press of the UK.

Hurtado sets about Morrissey by writing, "what's most confounding about Morrissey's stalwart popularity among the Mexican-American community is not that he's British, it's that he's anti-immigrant". This is, of course, a blatant lie. Morrissey has stated on numerous occasions that he believes Britain needs to have a stringent immigration policy - just as countries touch as the USA, Canada and Australia have such policies - but he has NEVER stated that he is anti immigrant. There is a HUGE difference, which Hurtado either doesn't understand, or ignores for the sake of trying to draw a certain picture. The article continues, "Morrissey has repeatedly criticised multiculturalism and refugees in Europe and the UK", but what Morrissey has actually criticised, is loss of culture and heritage, which I would imagine are things Latino's relate to, not disagree with.

Hurtado continues, "he said he abhors racism and oppression of any kind, and yet, he's espoused racist and nationalist rhetoric nonstop in recent years". Yet more lies - there has been NO espousing of racism. NONE. The NME were sued for suggesting such, and forced to apologise.

Hurtado has obviously built his whole opinion of Morrissey based on the twisted lies of the NME and The Guardian. This is further backed up by Hurtado quoting the 'Chinese being a subspecies' and Morrissey supporting For Britain, a 'far-right' political party.

More evidence that Hurtado doesn't actually understand what racism actually is, or is purposely looking to twist it's meaning, comes when he tries to be ironic, writing, "An artist who loves his Mexican fans so much can't possibly be racist, right?" - Well, OF COURSE someone could like Mexicans and still be racist. If I liked Mexicans but wanted to kill Africans, I would still be racist. Hurtado has no logic.

It is blatantly obvious that Hurtado, and no doubt Pitchfork as well, really, really wanted there to be a backlash against Morrissey at Tropiclia, but the Latino audience showed that they have not been fooled by all the left-wing lies coming from the UK press. Hurtado writes, "Morrissey was greeted at the Tropiclia main stage by a full, roaring crowd", before then slanting the piece again by adding, "who turned a blind eye for a fond ear" - NO THEY DIDN'T! No turning of eyes at all. All eyes were on Morrissey.

There is one paragraph in Hurt-ego's article that says all anyone needs to know:

"The thing is, I didn't hear all that much conflict from fans. Given what I knew of the general backlash towards Morrissey's worst comments, I expected to encounter a palpable protest to his performance at Tropiclia. I expected condemnatory signs and booing. What I found instead was a crowd of music lovers clad in all black, clearly swept up in a state of nostalgia and reverie. They sang along in unison. They cheered when he spoke in Spanish. When he said he loved them, they screamed back."

Dave Haslam take note - intelligent fans don't believe lies.

LUDWIG HURTADO - YET ANOTHER 'JOURNALIST' THAT LIES

Yesterday Morrissey and the band appeared on James Corden's The Late Late Show and played Back on the Chain Gang. Another success.

And now, in the absence of an internet Morrissey, I shall disappear again.
