Friday September 21st 2018 - Day 2564 - Close the barn door
There has been no sign of Our Mozzer in The Arms, but 'the real Moz' has been sited in the G Wienholt Bakery in Alderley Edge, Cheshire - obviously buying pain-au-raisin, although in the old MorrisseysWorld parodies, the pain-au-raisin would always come from Greggs or the Co-op, NEVER from such a posh local such as G Wienholt. Things must be on the up!
There have also been a couple of statements posted by M on Morrissey Central. Here is the first:
THE RIGHT ONE IS LEFT
For historical note, please be aware that my July concerts were not cancelled due to pressure from Love Hate And Racism. Yes, I am aware that certain UK hatepapers claimed a victory for Love Hate And Racism, but this, I can assure you, is just their life-destructive fantasy world rattling along in search of respectability. I sincerely hope that they find it. However, the British Arts are seriously under time-bomb attack by pearl-clutching print journalists whose fashionable outrage is their only oxygen. They write like friendless children talking to themselves as they slowly walk home from school, so certain that someone is out to get them. However, if you just happen to be those whom the UK hatepapers claim have abandoned me (and if you are, then why are you reading this?), then by all means, close the barn door on your way out. Music lasts longer than life.
peace for all

Calling newspapers 'hatepapers' made me chuckle, as did the 'close the barn door' jibe at the plastic former fans. In fact, that jibe along with the very last sentence about music lasting longer than life reminded me of a quote given to me by Our Mozzer on June 1st, in which he said:
"I sang their life and then their life changed. Or they pretend it has. I am still here. I will be here after we have all gone."
It's yet another one for our coincidence list.
The second statement on Moz Central was an announcement that he is to tour Canada for the first time in 15 years. No dates have yet been released.
In other news:
A) Starcrawler are growing on me - I especially like the song Used To Know. They remind me of The Darkness, who I was really into in 2003.
B) Brexit negotiations are going nowhere, and Theresa May is a dead woman walking
C) The statement used about Morrissey by the Ventura Theater uses an old quote from Believer Magazine which reads, "Morrissey fans are blurring the lines between what it means to be a pop icon and a religious icon" - well, he IS The Mozziah!
D) Wolf Alice last night were deservedly awarded the Mercury Prize for Visions of a Life - goodness only knows why Morrissey never gets awarded..... actually, we DO know!
E) There is NO E.
