Day 2458 - Trick or treat?

Image
Dawn Mist (@DawnTheSecond) quietly observed the countdown of our weekly Wrong Arms chart yesterday lunchtime, and after I announced that the Number 1 was the NON-playing of You'll Be Gone in Newcastle, Dawn tweeted, "I truly spoil you." Dawn then returned at 4.07pm and tweeted, "Tricks or treats? Tricks or treats. The squalor of the mind." I wondered if perhaps Dawn's tweet was a clue to a treat in Birmingham, and was half expecting to see You Know I Couldn't Last added to last night's set, but it wasn't to be. The Birmingham crowd were however apparently (according to a tweet I read) treated to an a cappella snippet of something from West Side Story during the Speedway pause, but there is no footage on Youtube, so I don't know if it's true, or which song it was. I have tweeted to ask if anyone knows, and the only response I have had is from Dawn (at 8.30pm this evening). Dawn tweeted: "Mr. T" I must presume it means, Tonight . ...

Day 2457 - Who will protect us from the poll lice?

Image
The final result of the 'Is Morrissey secretly on Twitter as a lighthouse keeper called Dawn' poll resulted as follows: 1st Yes 43% (52 votes) = 1st No, Morrissey would NEVER 43% (52 votes) 3rd Who is Morrissey? 14% (16 votes) The world remains split. I am now running a one-day Twitter poll asking: Did Morrissey really omit You'll Be Gone as his set-opener in Newcastle following a Twitter exchange with Rat (TRB), as reported on FTM ? A) It's certainly possible B) No! Rat is a fantasist C) Who is Rat? Twitter polls are VERY compulsive. Whenever one appears in my timeline, I always vote, even when I don't really have an opinion on the subject matter. With a couple of hours still to go, the current result of this latest poll is as follows: 1st Who is Rat? 49% (18 votes) 2nd It's certainly possible 27% (10 votes) 3rd No! Rat is a fantasist 24% (9 votes) At least I have the backing of the dreary deluded dozen..... almost! In other news, I have read reports that at t...

Day 2456 - "You'll be disappointed"

Image
Morrissey has opened every show on this current tour with his wonderful rendition of Elvis Presley's You'll Be Gone. He also opened every single show on his last USA tour with You'll Be Gone. On Friday afternoon, at 3.46pm, I took to Twitter and posted the following: "With the lyric, "let's make this a night to remember", You'll Be Gone is the perfect set opener for Morrissey. The fact that it also mentions 'Dawn' makes it even better." Three hours after I had posted my tweet (at 6.42pm), I was sent a DM Twitter message by Morrissey (as Dawn) which read: "I must tell you, blatant song hinting will be ignored. I much prefer the element of surprise." That evening in Newcastle; for the first time in seventeen shows, Morrissey DIDN'T open the set with You'll Be Gone, and in fact, it disappeared from the set completely. A coincidence? YES , of course.... just like all the other hundreds of coincidences that have happene...

Day 2451 - Treat enough

Image
Despite Morrissey being on tour, and despite me producing an excellent chart, yesterday's FTM readership was through the floor - WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? THIS IS A LIVING AND BREATHING HISTORICAL DOCUMENT OF MORRISSEY SECRETLY INTERACTING WITH HIS FANS VIA TWITTER AND A BLOG AND NO ONE IS INTERESTED!..... well, a few people are, and why should I care about all those who have either dismissed this or can't be bothered? - it's their loss. It was rather nice that old Mozzer (as Dawn) joined us for the chart rundown yesterday; although he did accuse me of lying when I was explaining to someone that the chart is scientifically produced. When I asked him to prove I was lying, he replied, "The proof I have given you over the years old boy. Yet you still demand more." There certainly has been a lot of proof given to us over the past 6+ years by Morrissey, all of which leaves no doubt whatsoever that he is indeed the 'Fake Morrissey' that continues to interact wi...

Day 2450 - Fan' dabi' dozi

Image
I am pleased to report those Sweaty Socks who attended the two Moz shows over the weekend have now sobered-up sufficiently enough from a weekend on the Tennent's Extra & Irn-Bru to upload their videos onto You Tube. This has enabled me to not only watch lots of great concert footage, but I have also been able to produce a Wrong Arms Chart - the first one of the year. It can be found at the bottom of this blog entry. There has been no sign of Our Mozzer in The Wrong Arms since Saturday evening, when he delivered that very amusing Tour Diary . I really had hoped that we would be getting another entry from the tour diary; especially as there has been some great fall-out following Morrissey mentioning that Nicola Sturgeon would, "put her hands in anyone's pockets", but alas, no..... or at least, not yet - we live in hope that Morrissey's parody writing juices may flow some more. That aforementioned fall-out has been quite ridiculous; as is usually the case when th...

Day 2448 - Mentioning Sturgeon....a fishy tale

Yesterday at 5.01pm I received notification from Dawn Mist that I should check the blog. I logged onto TrueMorrissey.blogspot.com  and to my delight I found a new parody piece titled Tour Diary 2018 - It had been posted at 5pm. Tour Diary 2018 is a wonderfully funny piece about Morrissey arriving in Aberdeen - or Aberspleen as he calls it - and goes into detail about hotel choices, tour shirts, anti-ageing eyebrow cream and Nicola Blurgheon. I let Dawn know that I found it very funny, but thought it was far too short. Dawn replied, "I am a man with serious obligations and a readership of three deserves no more than two lines."  Here is the piece in full (photo added by me, as Dawn hadn't bothered to include any): Tour Diary 2018 Arrived in Aberspleen dressed in impeccable flash mac style. Timing has never been my forte and it appears I have arrived at least a day early. Damo, the man servant of personal choice, checked me into my five-star hotel and ordered the appropriat...

Day 2447 - What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Image
MORRISSEY - ABERDEEN 16 FEB 2018 - PHOTO BY @INTL_PLAYBOY Morrissey made a triumphant return to the stage last night in Aberdeen, and OH!, what a set - it included NINE songs from Low In High School, with debuts for: The Girl From Tel-Aviv Who Wouldn't Kneel, I Bury The Living and Israel . MORRISSEY SINGING ISRAEL I haven't seen footage of TGFT-AWWK yet, but I have seen the other two songs and they are truly awesome live. Although Israel is (along with In Your Lap) my favourite song on LIHS, I would say that I was even more gripped by the live rendition of I Bury The Living, with goosebumps appearing when the song went into 'Dead John' mode. I can't wait to see these two sings live, and also am desperately hoping to hear/see In Your Lap at either/both Brighton/London Palladium; especially as it is now the only song from the new album not to have been played live. The only other two songs from LIHS not played last night were: All The Young People and Home Is A Ques...

Day 2446 - Jacky should be happy

Image
*Comes in singing* Jacky's only happy when she's up on the stage, free in the truth of make-believe A new Morrissey tour starts today, so all is good with the world....or at least, I hope it is. The world has not seen or heard anything from Morrissey since he played in New York in early December - with the exception of a photograph posted by nephew Sam a couple of weeks ago - and even Our Mozzer hasn't been heard of since the early hours of last Wednesday. In the past, OM has quite often interacted with us on Twitter the night before a tour starts - almost for reassurance that his fans are still here - but last night as I propped up the bar of The Wrong Arms, hoping to converse with him, nothing! There haven't even been any sightings of Moz or the band reported on social media - not even sightseeing around lighthouses. Are Moz and the boys even  in  Aberdeen? I guess we will find out very soon. In other news, I had a lovely weekend in New York last week, and even waite...

Day 2437 - Still finding trouble

Image
Will this Winter ever end? The Winter blues have well and truly engulfed me this year, but as I write this the sun is shining, and at last there is the feeling that Spring is on the way - I do hope so. And at least I am off to New York tomorrow for a few days, so that will be nice. Morrissey has been pretty much in hibernation over the past month or so, but he did make a very brief appearance yesterday evening in The Wrong Arms, in the guise of Dawn. I bumped into him in those infamous toilets, where he asked me if I had watched his latest recommendation - The Honourable Woman. (Ed - it was actually Morfessa's recommendation , but let's not split hairs.)  I replied that I hadn't gotten around to watching it yet, which is rather rude of me - I bet Pai Mei wouldn't have put up with such insolence from a pupil. Dawn's only public tweet came at 1:28am - "Trouble has forgotten me." This just isn't true - Trouble does  still love Morrissey, and only recentl...

Day 2433 - Dawn tweets

Image
Morrissey again paid a visit to Twitter yesterday as Dawn the Second. He spent a hour in The Wrong Arms between 7.45pm and 8.45pm, but was virtually ignored. Morrissey is on Twitter and open to engaging with fans, and yet he is ignored. You couldn't make this up. Here are his tweets: "You presented your bones but they were written in code" In response to @SpiceGirlsNet tweeting a 'reunited' photo: "Has the one on the left had a reverse face lift?" As to how old Mozzer came to see a tweet by the Spice Girls, goodness only knows. In response to a poll I had posted asking people to define Morrissey - he ignored my three choices and gave his own: "Cultural Icon, Seminal artiste, Provocateur, Enfant terrible" I replied by stating that I should have included 'Devious, truculent and unreliable' as a poll choice, to which Dawn replied: "You are above that. Or below it."  - I'm not, I simply didn't think about it in time! In re...

Day 2432 - Cutting Dawn

Image
Dawn again popped her head around the doors of The Wrong Arms yesterday - here are her comments: In response to me posting a Twitter poll asking if FTM was A) Self Indulgent nonsense B) A future historical document or C) Fake news: "Your life boiled down to a poll. Seems remarkably apt. I voted for self indulgent claptrap myself." (Ed - the result of the poll was a tie between A & B, which basically means FTM is a future historical document full of my self indulgent nonsense....which is pretty much spot on.) In response to @BBCEngland tweeting, "Brighton Pride organisers suspend ticket sales after Britney Spears fans crash the website": "If ever there was a need for the IRA to resurface this is it." (Ed - My jaw dropped, and then I wept with laughter. Old Mozzer is outrageous! - For those reading this who may not know what Dawn is referring to, it is the IRA bombing of a hotel in Brighton in 1984 .) BRITNEY SPEARS - APPEARING IN BRIGHTON THIS AUGUST ...
