Ladies and gentlemen, the seminal artist has now left the building.

Late on Monday afternoon, Morrissey - as AlfsButton - popped into The Wrong Arms and tweeted, "Goodbye". He then immediately closed the AlfsButton twitter account. There are now no MorrisseysWorld related twitter accounts remaining. Another chapter in the MorrisseysWorld story has come to an end.

We now look to the next chapter, and towards the stage to see if someone can get a blue rose to Morrissey. The tour starts in just six days time, in Portland. The newest BRS member, @LifeIsAPigsty_ will be taking a blue rose to Portland, and we also have other BRS members taking roses to concerts throughout the tour including: the BRS Vice President, Angie on November 18th, and the BRS President, Kyle, on December 2nd. No doubt Jaz and Jesse, who have both previously managed to get a blue rose to Morrissey, will also be doing their best to deliver one again.

I am so excited for those BRS members in the USA who will be taking their roses, and dearly wish that I could have found an opportunity to go to a concert and take a rose. Hopefully there will be a UK tour early next year.

As we wait for the tour to begin, we have a pre-recorded appearance on the Graham Norton Show to look forward to on Friday, along with the vinyl release of Spent The Day In Bed.


 


Today we have had the release of the second single from Low In High School, I Wish You Lonely. Once again there is a lyric video, but this time the video gives a distinct nod to MorrisseysWorld. Every single 'O' that appears on the lyrics as they scroll up the screen, is larger than the rest of the letters.



The letter 'O' featured heavily in the early days of the MorrisseysWorld blog. Firstly a collage was posted in November 2011 of famous people making an 'O' sign with their fingers. Following the publication of the collage, Morrissey made 'O' signs with his hands on the Conan Show, and then went on to make 'O' gestures to BRS members in the audience at concerts. Blue 'O' s were inexplicably added to the Hollywood High School sign in 2013, and an 'O' gesture was made by Morrissey at his book signing in Gothenburg.

Will anyone wonder why the 'O' s in the lyric video are larger than the other letters? Probably, but only a few of us will actually know the answer. MorrisseysWorld and the Blue Rose Society continues....

Day 2390 - "The construction of genius"

As I counted down the ' Most Watched Morrissey Video Chart 2017 ' in The Wrong Arms yesterday afternoon, we were joined by the man himself (as Morfessa), although it was only very briefly. He tweeted, "I am not staying. I have people to offend", to which I replied, "Your full time occupation...you're good at it too!", and subsequently got the response, "I offended twenty people by the time I had gargled this morning." Before he disappeared, old Mozzer left this message for me via DM: "Stop your chart immediately. Good. The interview questions are being answered. Now continue. From Alf." He then added, "Would you like a sneak peak of an answer?" As I was counting down the chart, I hadn't seen the message, so didn't reply immediately. Two minutes later I got a, "Far too slow."
