Day 2484 - I bid farewell

Image
There has been no sign of our Mozzer in The Wrong Arms for over a week, and so as I have no Mozziah to follow, and no tour to report on anymore, it is time for me to bid farewell - for now at least. The ' Morrissey In Session' for Mexican TV was broadcast last Friday, and it amounted to three songs: Jacky, When You Open Your Legs and Day In Bed. As to whether or not any other recording took place at the Panoram Studios whilst producer Joe Chiccarelli was with the band, who knows. Friday also saw the latest single from Low In High School released on lovely 7 inch vinyl. It is My Love, I'd Do Anything For You , which despite being an excellent song, will receive NO radio airplay, particularly as the opening line is far too political for the likes of Radio 2. NEW SINGLE - OUT NOW I can't ever imagine the day arriving when I stop buying vinyl, but yesterday something rather momentous did take place in my life, I subscribed to Spotify - I am now officially a streamer. The on...

Day 2477 - Free in the truth of make-believe

Image
Despite the incredible revelation in my blog entry of Friday that Ricky Gervais and Morrissey are both secretly using Twitter accounts to interact with each other and Morrissey fans, I haven't been contacted by one single journalist wanting to investigate my claim further. It is of course no surprise that I haven't been contacted by any journalists as, after all, news websites aren't interested in anything remotely interesting, mystical or taxing, they just want click bait. A perfect example of this came on Saturday, when an  article about Morrissey written by Nick Halsted was published by The Independent  . The piece is SO poor that Morrissey's 'management' have issued a statement on the official Morrissey Facebook account stating that it was an article full of 'old news, no news and fake news'. I have skimmed through the article and it really is just a nothing piece, cobbled together just to slag Morrissey off for no apparent reason. Hasted's ti...

Day 2474 - Peanuts!

Image
Morrissey's appearance on Mexican TV yesterday  has come in for a bit of a slating from some fans, with it being described as "chaotic". Morrissey's lip synching and the band's "wooden" dance moves have come in for particular criticism. I awoke this morning to find a comment posted on Twitter by Dawn (at 1:53am UK time, 7:53pm Mexico time) saying, "Blame for Sale El Sol must be directed @TheRatsBack also." Great! Not only am I the fall-guy for MorrisseysWorld, I am now to blame for EVERYTHING! Yesterday I reported that Morrissey (as Dawn) had sent me a Twitter message to say that they are recording, and I took this to mean that the band was recording/finishing the new album, but I may have been getting a little carried away. It has today been announced that Morrissey is recording a session for a Mexican TV station, to be screened later in the month, so perhaps this is what Dawn was referring to, and not a new album. I guess we will find out s...

Day 2473 - "Recording, recording, record..."

Image
It would appear that the recording of a new Morrissey album; which I wrote about yesterday  (and also mentioned on Tuesday ), is a lot closer than anyone might have imagined, i.e. it's happening NOW! Morrissey and the band are all currently in Mexico to play the Viva Latino Festival on Saturday, but also in Mexico at the moment is producer Joe Chiccarelli, and what is more, Morrissey (as Dawn) has tweeted me saying, "Recording, recording, record...." - THEY'RE IN THE STUDIO I TELL YER! If this is true; and there is no reason to believe that it isn't, then we could even have a new album THIS YEAR . Joe C yesterday tweeted a picture of a house, and added the words, "Love the Art Deco homes in La Condessa Mexico City." Could this actually be a clue as to where they are recording? - There is a recording studio in Mexico City called Artco ....... or does Joe simply like Art Deco houses? Morrissey and the band have also appeared on Mexican TV today, performing...

Day 2472 - Chapter of Accidents

Image
When Morrissey (as Dawn) tweeted, "Farewell my friends" yesterday afternoon, and then closed the Dawn Mist Twitter account, I presumed that we wouldn't be seeing anymore of Moz around these parts for a while, and also thought that it may be the last we ever see of the Dawn pessoa, but I am pleased to report, I was wrong. At 9.13pm yesterday evening, Dawn posted a comment on my blog entry of Day 2209 , which was published on June 24 2017 with the title 'The Test of Naked Male Flesh' . I presume Dawn chose to post her comment on that particular blog page because it is an entry about new album track titles, and my blog entry of yesterday included mention of a new Morrissey album. Here is Dawn's comment: Morrissey's forthcoming album "Chapter of Accidents" track listing (guaranteed number one in Lithuania).  1) Danger to National Security  2) My Bed is a Danger Zone  3) Intelligentsia is Dead  4) Insiders Asset  5) Underestimated at Peril  6) I Foun...

Day 2471 - "Farewell my friends"

Image
I am still buzzing from Saturday's concert at The Palladium, and haven't witnessed any symptoms of the post-concert blues which usually occur after seeing old Mozzer. The songs from Saturday just won't leave my head, and I must have watched the Youtube footage of You'll Be Gone about a million times - WHAT A SONG! WHAT A GREAT COVER OF THE SONG! I spent this morning compiling the weekly Wrong Arms Chart, and whilst going through Twitter to see what songs had been played in the last seven days, I came across YET   ANOTHER 'coincidence'. On Wednesday, whilst in conversation with GOB (remember her?) about wanting to hear the song Israel live, I tweeted, "I have hopes for this Saturday in the intimate London Palladium.... but they're not high hopes", and I then linked a Youtube clip of High Hopes by Frank Sinatra ..... and whose name was the first on that Top 10 Most Incredible List that Morrissey read out at The Palladium? - FRANK SINATRA! What is m...

Day 2470 - The Nightingale lives on

Image
Oh, what a Saturday night at the London Palladium! With hand on heart, I can honestly state that it is the best concert I have ever attended. Using all my cunning and skill, I managed to get myself to the VERY CENTRE of the FRONT ROW , which resulted in an hour and a half of extreme intimacy, but more about my experience and other observations later. First off, let me start with a review of the show. I had intended to write my own review, but this morning I read a review on Morrissey-Solo by somebody who goes by the name, Joe Frady. Joe's review pretty much says everything that I want to say, so to save me approximately four hours, I have decided to use Joe's review, but I have edited it to amend a few mistakes; with Joe's biggest mistake of all being his mis-hearing of Morrissey's opening words, and the words are VERY, VERY IMPORTANT .... not that Joe or any of the others in attendance would have realised. Joe had wrongly believed that Morrissey opened the show with ...
